Weekly Synopsis

Photography is a class of endless discoveries, but this week I learned even a little more! I learned that there's so many ideas and art forms in that little room that it could probably burst. I learned how to import photos into Lightroom and I'm beginning to get a hang of how to do constructive criticism on some of them. This is going in a very good direction! I'm really excited to get more done on my landscape project, there's so much stuff to do.

This week, in general, I learned that I'm actually pretty good at giving speeches. The nerves you feel can actually be the inspiration ready to pour onto people other than being scared. I also learned that Mother Teresa was so selfless and a saint, but she had that emptiness in her heart that she never really felt God was with her. She was a believer, of course, but she didn't believe she had him. So, it came to my conclusion. That when you're truly dedicated and in love with something, you'll never really find an end to it. You're always going to want more and more. You won't be able to get enough of it, and that's when you realize you're truly dedicated. The fact that one day, the thing you're fascinated with will come to an end or finish haunts you're mind, meaning you'll always keep wanting something more. It's amazing how that works and what we can do.

One more slice

My Thanksgiving started with a great breakfast. Our friend Edson was returned to his family just in time for the holidays. After being a year in the Tacoma Immigration Detention Center. We probably could've gotten him out earlier if we had gotten better lawyers from the start. Anyways, back to the Thanksgiving. We gathered everyone who helped Edson together for a Thanksgiving breakfast. Everyone brought food and sat together in the large table as we still tried to realize that Edson was actually there with us. KATU News was there to do an update on his story and they interviewed Edson's cousin who was so emotional about his return. It was a true miracle Edson was with us for Thanksgiving spending it with his family & friends.

After the breakfast my mom had to go drop us off at my Dad's. When we got there we left to his girlfriend's house in Beaverton for Thanksgiving dinner. Her parents were there for the week, so her mom made most of the Thanksgiving dinner. It was delicious! The scent of the roasted turkey, the steam from the warm mashed potatoes, and the tangy cranberries filled the night. We sat down and said our prayers. I ate until I felt like bursting and I swear I think I gained a pants size. For desert we had pumpkin pie, which is my absolute favorite. My brother and stepbrother got a mattress and decided to go "mattress surfing" down the stairs. It was quite a show. After all that we ended the evening with "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" and went to bed, but of course we woke up at around 3 AM for just one more slice of Pumpkin Pie.

This is my brother & stepbrother "Mattress Surfing" down the stairs.

We're brewing something unknown.

This Thanksgiving my brother and I came up with an amazing idea. Why not build a robot costume? So that's exactly what we did. We're working on the costume now and it's actually pretty complicated. We hope to bring joy to people who encounter our robot. His name is still unknown, but he'll be named soon. This will be exciting!
