Landscape & Nature Assignment

November 17th 2012 at Eagle Creek Trail, Oregon. ISO: 3200 Aperture: F/6.3 Shutter Speed: 1/100
This picture wasn't too difficult to shoot. I used the bridge to keep the camera stable, but I had to be very cautious about the rain not getting the camera wet!

November 25th 2012 Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, Oregon. ISO: 400 Aperture: F/7.1 Shutter Speed: 1/4000 I had a little bit of trouble editing this image because I took it standing under a tree and the bottom of the photo it was dark while the sky was bright. I think I fixed it pretty well.

November 25th 2012 Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, Oregon. ISO: 400 Aperture: F/5.6 Shutter Speed: 1/25 I had no trouble with this photo. I think I did a good job editing it so the colors would stand out more.

November 25th 2012 Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, Oregon. ISO: 400 Aperture: F/5.6 Shutter Speed: 1/60 I had fun shooting this photo. The ducks sort of modeled for me, and I love how I edited the colors of the duck that you wouldn't normally notice.

November 25th 2012 Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, Oregon. ISO: 400 Aperture: F/6.3 Shutter Speed: 1/320 I like how I edited the image so the orange leaves would bring out the green of the flower more.

November 17th 2012 Eagle Creek Trail, Oregon. ISO: 3200 Aperture: F/5.0 Shutter Speed: 1/250 It was a little hard to edit this picture just because there wasn't much color and I tried to bring out what I could. I also didn't want to fall into the river!

November 25th 2012 Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, Oregon. ISO: 800 Aperture: F/5.6 Shutter Speed: 1/4000 The only problem I had editing this image was that there was a blue glow that would outline the tree, but luckily I fixed it!

November 25th 2012 Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, Oregon. ISO: 400 Aperture: F/6.3 Shutter Speed: 1/320 I didn't have trouble at all with the photo and I feel that I did a good job editing the colors so that they would show contrast.

November 17th 2012 Eagle Creek Trail, Oregon. ISO: 3200 Aperture: F/5.0 Shutter Speed: 1/50 I liked how I exposed the photo more and the only trouble when shooting was that the rain wouldn't get the camera wet.

The Weekend

The weekend was pretty good! Friday started off great and my Crew came over to spend the night at my house. The "movie night" turned into a hug wrestling match between the guys and the girls, of course the girl's won. Saturday was filled with breakfast french toast, winter concert and soccer games. Soccer girls can be scary and mean! On Sunday I went to the school banquet. It was quite nice and the food was delicious! After that, we went to the Zoo Lights and rode the little train. It was like the cherry topping on the night. My weekend ended with Joelle watching the Monster Ball DVD and me trying to rush all of my homework.

A Photographer's Responsibility

I believe that a photographer's responsibility isn't just to simply shoot a photo and think about how its going to help them, but to see past themselves. A photographer should know when a right time to take a photo is and when it isn't. You should be able to take great photos that will give you a positive feedback rather than a photo of a situation that can make people hate you. I don't believe that other's lives at risk, or human beings is to be put after photography. Always be selfless in as many occasions as you can. It's easy to think about yourself when photographing, but a harder task is living in the moment of the event and putting yourself in their shoes.
How would you feel if someone was taking a picture of you at that exact moment or took a picture of you in your most embarrassing moment? We tend to forget about others when we're not the ones living it. Thats why being a photographer is hard. You have to be able to think about others at that moment you're about to press the button. One photograph can change your entire carrer. One photograph can change your entire person.

Assignment Update

This is the status of my Landscape and Nature assignment which is due by December 13th at 5pm:

I have shot at both of my locations and have enough photographs for the assignment, but I need to import the other half of my photos and begin to edit them. I'm going to start editing soon, and I'm excited to see how they turn out!
